HKI Core Documentation

About HKI Core

HKI Core extends the Unity engine with helpful classes and functionality to improve the overall workflow. It's created by Holger Kürten for HK Interactive UG (haftungsbeschränkt).

Features

• Game Event System (HKI.Core.GameEvents.GameEvent)
• Localization System (HKI.Core.Loc)
• Settings/Config System (HKI.Core.Settings.SettingsSystem)
• Common use triggers (HKI.Core.Triggers)
• Audio players with playlist (HKI.Core.Audio)
• Variables system with callbacks that can be used for changing UI on value change (HKI.Core.Variables)
• Simple window/Screen system for UI (HKI.Core.UI.UIScreenManager)
• Misc helper classes for debuging, screenshots, scene transitions, splash screens and more (HKI.Core.Misc)

Eventhough there is a documentation and comments in the files the major objective was to reduce the amount of comments or even eliminate them at all by choosing good and self explanatory names for classes, functions and variables.
By doing that I think explanations, especially lengthy ones, what the code does are not required. I only do that on functions that are very lengthy and cannot be divided into several subfunctions.

Installation

Required other libraries are:

• Text Mesh Pro
• Post Processing Stack v2

Install HKI Core by open following menu item:

HKI -> Core -> Create Initializer and all subsystems
